A celebration of creativity across the West Midlands and the Commonwealth.

Birmingham 2022 Festival is a six-month programme of arts and cultural events as part of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Running from March to September the festival will shine a spotlight on creativity and culture in the region. It will feature over 100 new creative works and events such as dance, drama, visual arts, music, photography, digital art and more.

The festival officially opens with Wondrous Stories - a spectacular large-scale outdoor show by world-renowned dance-circus company, Motionhouse. Taking place in Birmingham’s Centenary Square from March 17 – 20 Wondrous Stories promises to be an extraordinary show featuring hundreds of performers, giant aerial spectacles, and digital projections. The show will be free to attend and will also be livestreamed around the globe.
