West Midlands Gardens
West Midlands Gardens is a joint initiative formed by Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Winterbourne House and Garden, Castle Bromwich Historic Gardens, and Martineau Gardens.
We are driven by a shared mission to celebrate the region’s diverse and varied gardens, attract more visitors, and support the wellbeing of our region through offering beautiful spaces for people to connect with nature.
Birmingham Botanical Gardens
Birmingham Botanical Gardens is a 15 acre grade II* listed landscape, with diverse micro-climates, offering a uniquely bio-diverse natural environment. It is one of the UK’s most significant historic botanic gardens which has remarkably remained intact since 1829.
Winterbourne House and Garden
Restored to its Edwardian Arts and Craft splendour, Winterbourne House is a unique heritage attraction set within seven acres of beautiful botanic gardens. Only minutes from Birmingham city centre, Winterbourne is home to beautiful antiques and over 6,000 plant species from around the world. Wander along the woodland walk, stroll through the hazelnut tunnel, cross the 1930’s Japanese Bridge or simply soak up the tranquillity of this perfectly English Edwardian home.
Castle Bromwich Historic Gardens
Situated conveniently on the edge of the city, the 10-acre grade II* listed walled garden transports you back to the Dutch and French influenced formal Gardens of the late 17th century. In England, this garden is a very rare survival example of that style. With formal walks, orchards, vegetable garden as well as mud kitchens and wildlife areas, it's a great place to visit with the family.
Martineau Gardens
Martineau Gardens is a beautiful community garden and charity, located two miles from Birmingham City Centre. An oasis for wildlife, a haven of tranquillity, or simply a destination for an outdoor escape, there are two and a half acres of organically managed landscape for you to explore.
Middleton Hall & Gardens
Middleton Hall & Gardens is a little-known historic site located on the North Warwickshire border, between Tamworth and Sutton Coldfield. The estate covers 42 acres which encompasses a historic manor house, an eighteenth-century Walled Garden and the oldest man-made lake in North Warwickshire.
