Offering colour and interest throughout the year, the seven acre Grade II listed garden is home to a beautiful walled garden, striking colour themed borders, original sandstone rock garden and stream side planting.

Inside, exhibition rooms on two floors tell the history of the house and its owners.

The garden also displays plants from around the globe with collections of plants from China, North and South America and the alpine areas of the world. There is a programme of public garden events running throughout the year including open days, special interest tours, local heritage days and music concerts . The nearest mainline station is Birmingham New Street, with good links to cities across the UK. From here, a taxi to Winterbourne takes around 10 minutes. By Bus: The bus service near Winterbourne has recently changed due to the implementation of a new service of buses X64 and X62. The number 20 and 21 buses no longer run. To get to Winterbourne from the city centre the numbers 61 and 63 provide the most regular services, with a joint frequency of every 3-4 minutes between Birmingham City Centre and Northfield, stopping on the Bristol Road - a 5 minute walk from Winterbourne. The X64 and X62 pick up passengers from Paradise Circus and the Town Hall, and run less frequently, however they stop at fewer stops making it an express service. For all bus services, alight at the fire station/gun barrels pub on the corner of Edgbaston Park Road and the Bristol Road. We now have bike racks available at the front of the house next to the Nicolson Building. If you are a larger group of cyclists, please notify us in advance.
