About

Temporary closure of the Gardens.

We will be closed to the public from Monday 23rd November  and will reopen on Wednesday 9th December

We are proud to have been able to keep the Gardens operating and available for you to visit during these difficult times.

Winter’s challenging weather and the rigours of social distancing won’t put us off offering our visitors a comfy and warming welcome through into 2021.

With the visitor centre café is out of bounds these days, we have planned to make some basic changes to the courtyard area so we can offer a cosy. but safe, place for you to pause on your outing.

The best and safest way for us to make these changes will be to close to the public for 2 weeks.
The difficulties of supply during lockdown means that not everything  will be finished when we re-open, but we don’t want to delay further.
We hope to re-open on Wednesday the 9th  in time for some pre-christmas toddles, saunters and self-guided trails.

Unfortunately the uncertainties around lockdown means that our ambitious plans to make your Christmas visits spectacular, have been put on hold… but watch out for some special treats in store leading up to Christmas nevertheless.
We look forward to seeing you again soon.

We have been able to make all the changes over summer and winter because of the financial support from the National Lottery Heritage Emergency Fund and from the Government’s Culture Recovery Fund.

Such support has been a lifeline for our charity; we’ve been able to bring pleasure to our visitors, provide employment for a small number of artists, professionals and small companies and kept our community and economy busy and active.

Visit one of the only unchanged early 18th century formal Gardens in the UK, Castle Bromwich Historic Gardens.

Situated conveniently on the edge of the city, the 10-acre grade II* listed walled garden transports you back to the Dutch and French influenced formal Gardens of the late 17th century. In England, this garden is a very rare survival example of that style.

A family friendly visitor attraction with plenty for the little ones to do - a safe area for children to take their first steps, to discover nature, the outdoors and the wild.

With formal walks, orchards, vegetable garden as well as mud kitchens and wildlife areas, it's a great place for all the family to hang out in.

A breath of fresh air in the city – an oasis of calm with green open spaces.

Rescued by volunteers over 35 years ago restored and maintained back to its original 17th Century beauty.

Events and family activities throughout the season. Garden open all year round.

Onsite visitor centre with cafe and shop.

Being only 20 minutes from Birmingham International Airport it is an easy couple of hours on the way in or way out of the country.

Additional Information:

Most areas are accessible with some help or sturdy wheeled chairs or scooters. Visitor Centre and basic toilet facilities are accessible.
