Birmingham is about to get a new sushi fix as much-loved Danish-Japanese restaurant Sticks’n’Sushi opens on Chamberlain Square on Saturday 31st October – its first restaurant in the city.
Birmingham diners can get an early taste before the official opening, with 50% off food on Thursday 29th and Friday 30th October. Guests can sign up here for the chance to be among the first through the doors.
Known for bringing together Japanese cooking and Danish design, Sticks’n’Sushi serves a menu made for sharing, spanning sushi, sashimi, salads and its signature grilled kushiyaki-style sticks, alongside generous set menus for groups.
Popular plates include Beef Tataki, beef fillet with miso aïoli, truffle ponzu and Jerusalem artichoke crisps and the Temaki Setto, an impressive set of DIY sushi rolls with lobster, wagyu tartare and avocado fillings. New dishes include the Ebi Sando, filled with crispy prawn, truffle, miso aïoli; while the Sticks Setto turns dinner into an immersive hot experience with sticks of Japanese Wagyu beef, Iberico pork, prawn and miso-marinated black cod on a sizzling hot stone at the table.
The drinks menu brings plenty to match; from sake and Japanese teas to contemporary cocktails, premium spirits and Sticks’n’Sushi’s own Japanese Rice Lager, created in collaboration with Danish brewery Mikkeller.
Set across an expansive ground-floor space, the new Birmingham restaurant with room for up to 250 guestswill feature an adjoining terrace, large bar area and private dining. Whether it’s dinner for two, drinks with friends or a bigger celebration, it adds a major new dining destination to the heart of Chamberlain Square.
Andreas Karlsson, Sticks’n’Sushi Group CEO, comments:
“After months of planning, we’re very excited to finally be opening the doors in Birmingham. This is a big restaurant for us, with a great bar, terrace and plenty of space for groups, and we’ve designed it to work just as well for a quick lunch or a few drinks as it does for a full evening out. We can’t wait to welcome Birmingham in and see the restaurant in action.”
Tables from 31st October onwards can be booked now via OpenTable, or visit the Sticks’n’Sushi website for more information.
