Returning for another year, BBC Good Food Show Winter will be bringing some foodie festive cheer to Birmingham NEC over four fabulous days this month. Packed with top chefs, exclusive cooking events and hosted talks to shopping for artisan Christmas gifts, the show promises a whole load of festive fun and plenty more.

From Thursday 24th to Sunday 27th November, the NEC will be filled with an abundance of fabulous festive food as Birmingham’s own Glynn Purnell and Brad Carter take centre-stage at BBC Good Food Show Winter’s Big Kitchen, offering recipe inspiration, tips and tricks and live demonstrations, alongside James Martin, Nadiya Hussain, Ainsley Harriott and Michel Roux, and many more.

Commonly known as ‘Yummy Brummie’, Glynn Purnell was awarded Birmingham’s first Michelin star in 2005 and has since become a household name across the region and beyond. Glynn is the proud owner of popular Michelin-star restaurant Purnell’s located in the heart of Birmingham city centre and visitors to the show can catch a glimpse him in action in the Big Kitchen at Sunday’s show.

After recently making it onto the Top 20 UK restaurants for ‘The Good Food Guide 2022’, Moseley-based Michelin-starred chef, Brad Carter whose own restaurant, ‘Carters of Moseley’ made the list, will be bringing something different to the NEC this year. As a regular television personality featuring on popular shows such as BBC One’s Saturday Kitchen Live, Brad has established a popular profile, putting his own spin on modern British food. Fans of the popular chef can catch Brad in action at the Let's Talk Good Food Stage during Sunday’s show.

From being a foodie fan of the show to cooking live in the Festive Kitchen on Saturday 26th November, Poppy O’Toole is another native Brummie that guests can catch at the show. Known for creating easy-to-follow, restaurant style, recipe tutorials for her audience, Poppy is a Michelin-trained who has become an internet sensation after losing her job due to the pandemic – fans can find out more about her journey at the Let’s Talk Good Food stage on Saturday.

What’s more, visitors to the show can browse a selection of local exhibitors to the region and have the opportunity to support local businesses, including Lifetime Brands Europe Ltd, Family Secret Ltd, Jam N Vegan, Ms Tita Coffee, Rourkes Pies & Deli Limited and Vegan 1st.

Alongside catching live demonstrations from local food heroes in the Big Kitchen, guests can look forward to discovering the secrets of James Martin, Nadiya Hussain and Paul Ainsworth at the Let’s Talk Good Food stage over the weekend. Hosted by Barney Desmazery, the headline chefs will resolve any culinary queries in the Q&A sessions, which invite questions from the audience.

Elsewhere, the Festive Kitchen will be jam packed with recipe inspiration to suit all tastebuds, savoury or sweet. Serving up a selection of showstoppers, take a seat in this free theatre and discover something new to spice up your traditional festive lunch. Festive Kitchen returns to the NEC featuring best-selling author Sabrina Ghayour and internet sensation Poppy O’Toole.

Additionally, the brand-new BBC Good Food Wine Club Tasting Theatre will be hosting five sessions a day to show you how to get the most out of your favourite glass of wine, with the opportunity to try a range of fortified wines and dessert wines, including delicious sparkling wines originating from France and Italy, as well as the best of British wines.

This year’s show is guaranteed to give you inspiration for that all important gift this festive season, with hundreds of artisan brands alongside your favourite names returning to the NEC. Indulge in the ultimate foodie retail therapy and feast your eyes on an amazing selection of hand-picked goods, with endless stalls to browse, sample and shop from.
