About

A little-know historical house and gardens. The Estate has a long and fascinating history which we share with our visitors through our exhibitions, events and outdoor spaces including 30 acres of SSSI.

Our buildings date from the Medieval period all the way through to the Victorian period, providing examples of English architecture across a 700 year period. We have a tranquil Georgian Walled Garden with original heated walls and Bothy, accompanied by an orchard, flower meadow and nature walk.

Admission grants you access to the Hall, Gardens and Grounds. Within the grounds is the Courtyard at Middleton Hall, occupying 12 small independent businesses within a Victorian stable yard. This tranquil rural retail hub is home to a popular coffee shop and you will be able to find everything from antiques and jewellery, to herbal products and quirky gifts. You will also find a multi-award winning Thai spa and a dog grooming service.

In the surrounding area situates Middleton Lakes Nature Reserve. Middleton Lakes is a mosaic of wetlands, meadows and woodland in the heart of the River Tame Valley. Several kilometres of trails lead visitors through a variety of rich habitats, alive with a variety of birds including grey herons, kingfishers and lapwings.
