Zindiya

About

Zindiya is an Indian Streatery and bar created by husband and wife team, Ajay & Shivani Kenth, who have planned this venture since their teenage years. Their concept was to create an immersive experience of India – drinking chai or Limca, eating chaat and gol gappe – in a casual and fun environment.

Over 15 years later, the idea comes to life with ZINDIYA.
The name is derived from the Hindi word “Zindagi” meaning “life” and the couple’s daughters name Diya, which means light and splendour.

The experience of the street markets of Indian cities such as Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata are like nothing on earth. Their exotic and bustling aura is unique and we wanted to bring a sense of that culture to the place we were born, Moseley.

Our home is designed to look like a traditional street in any of these wonderful cities - colourful, distinctive and different to what we see over here. We have used local crafters and artists to create a setting that is bright, immersive and most of all, fun but in keeping with the real essence of what Indian street cooking is all about – fresh and affordable.

There is seating for 90 people, including covered rickshaw booths and a bar area which has the finest cocktail range in the village, designed by cocktail legend Robert Wood, alongside local craft beers, hand selected wines from Birmingham’s oldest wine merchant Connolly’s and sweets from the delicious Miss Macaroon.
Whether you fancy afternoon chai, a night out with friends or just a quick lunch, our food and drink will bring a little bit of India into your life.
