Saturday

Morning: Starting at Liverpool Lime Street, embark upon a Saturday Morning train with the kids in tow.

Get off the train at Tipton Station and make your journey towards the Black Country Living Museum, only a 10-15 minute bus ride away, or short 5 minute drive in a taxi.

The Black Country Living Museum is one of the most extraordinary open-air museums in the UK, the Museum immerses visitors into the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of the past. Explore original period shops and houses and meet the Museum's costumed characters along the way - they'll explain what it was like to live and work in one of the world's most heavily industrialised landscapes.

Lunch: Enjoy lunch at this attraction too – we recommend delighting over the offerings at Hobb’s, the famous fish and chip shop within the Living Museum as there’s nothing better than some authentic British fish and chips!

Mid afternoon: Hop back on the train from Tipton Station to Birmingham New Street and check in at Staybridge Suites, a family friendly hotel with large sized rooms to accommodate comfortably to family needs. Drop your bags, have a breather, before heading back out again and exploring what Birmingham City Centre has to offer.

Tucked away from Victoria Square, Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery is a welcome home to families exploring the city. With free family trails to help you explore and a mini museum next to the Edwardian Tearooms for little ones, it’s a great spot for a more relaxing activity in the city centre.

Dinner: Birmingham City Centre is brimming with quirky independents as well as the familiar walls of chain restaurants like Bella Italia and Wagamama. For something a little different whilst being child friendly, try the likes of Bodega and Buffalo & Rye, with kid-friendly menus, all within easy walking distance of your hotel.

Sunday

Morning: Enjoy a leisurely morning at your aparthotel, and make headway for York’s Bakery, a Rustic cafe offering homemade breakfast, hot lunches and cakes, made with carefully sourced ingredients. Kick-starting the day with a big breakfast here will guarantee satisfied tums all round.

Mid-morning: A visit to Birmingham isn’t finished before you experience the canals. Head towards Brindleyplace, and enjoy the scenic route whilst watching the narrowboats cruise by. Luckily, Legoland Discovery Centre can be reached by the canals, making it an obvious choice to carry on the fun in Birmingham.

Early afternoon: Legoland Discovery Centre is a family fun centre designed specifically for children aged 3-10 year to enjoy. With a 4D cinema, Kingdom Quest laser ride, a miniature city of Birmingham in MINILAND, building workshops and more, it’s a no brainer for a family fun day out.

Dinner: After exhausting all energy at the Legoland Discovery Centre, head towards Bistrot Pierre, a relaxed and friendly French bistrot that can also be found waterside along the canals.

Homeward bound: After delighting over all the wonderful food you’ve eaten today, head back to Staybridge Hotel to collect your bags before waving goodbye to Birmingham.

Before embarking upon your London Northwestern train at New Street, remember there’s a multitude of shops/restaurants/amenities and more in Grand Central for those last minute buys to keep everyone content on the journey home.
