Alton Towers Resort is thrilled to announce the much-anticipated return of its family-friendly Oktoberfest event. An area of the 500-acre Theme Park will be transformed into a Bavarian-themed destination, complete with Lederhosen-clad hosts, lots of oomptastic live entertainment, delicious German themed food and brand-new for 2023, the Resort has teamed up with Rural Brewing Co, a local brewery to create an exclusive Alton Beer, with more details to be revealed closer to the event.

From Saturday 9th September until Sunday 1st October, guests can tuck into a delicious selection of traditional bratwursts, schnitzels, Lebkuchen hearts and pretzels. Vegan food options are available including vegan bratwurst, plant based goujons and vegan schnitzels. The double decker Alpine themed bar, Wunderbar will also return where guests can enjoy a beer whilst watching the spectacular stage shows. For those looking for a more laidback Bavarian experience, the Bierkeller located in Mutiny Bay’s Courtyard is the perfect place to relax and unwind while singing along to German tunes and sampling authentic German biers.

Included in the admission price of a theme park ticket, the entertainment-led festival ‘Oktoberfest’ will take place from 11.30am and continue after the rides have closed. The front lawns and the whole of Mutiny Bay will be transformed into a Bavarian wonderland.

There will be two stages featuring vocalists, characters and an oompah band, Oomparty, who will perform modern day hits with a German twist. As well as a jam-packed schedule of live entertainment, there will be additional street theatre including Beer and Bubbles, Alpine Horn Man and the popular Barrell Monks.

Guests will also have the chance to enjoy the park’s world-class rollercoasters and family attractions such as the brand-new for 2023, The Curse at Alton Manor, Wicker Man, Oblivion and The Smiler.

If that wasn’t enough, guests can extend their escape at Alton Towers Resort and stay at one of the park’s iconic themed accommodations. From the famous CBeebies Land Hotel to enchanting log cabins, enjoy an incredible short break including a buffet breakfast, live evening entertainment, free parking, and a free round of Extraordinary Golf, making it the perfect escape for the whole family this autumn. Guests can also enjoy two exhilarating days in the theme park for the price of one when booking a short break across select dates, doubling the fun whilst saving time planning.

Later this year, the season for spooktacular fun, spinetingling scares and rides in the dark is back as the award-winning Scarefest returns. The home of Halloween will host terrifying scare mazes with brand-new creepy scares, shocks and spooktacular thrills, more live entertainment across the Resort, plus Monster Ball returns for those brave youngsters. Open until 9pm each day, daring guests can face head-spinning, hair-raising rides and attractions in darkness including Wicker Man and the Alton Towers Dungeon!

Closing off the season, the theme park will be lighting up the sky with the UK’s biggest and most sensational display, using a combination of dramatic fireworks and ground-breaking effects set against the picturesque Towers backdrop. For a magical end to 2023, guests can make memories this Christmas as Alton Towers Resort is transformed into the ultimate Christmassy escape with festive celebrations and seasonal sensations.
