Being a Birmingham resident, we asked Sian to explore beyond the city and discover one of the many amazing places the West Midlands has to offer. Settling on Leamington Spa before heading back to the buzz of Birmingham for the afternoon, Sian and her friend Nadine headed off on a West Midlands Railway train for a day packed full of food, culture and, of course, a spot of shopping.

Kicking the day off was brunch at Bill’s with Sian tucking into Bill’s Vegetarian Breakfast (£8.95) and Nadine opting for Bill’s Garden Breakfast (£9.95), including poached eggs, halloumi, roasted plum tomatoes, charred red peppers, smashed avocado, hollandaise sauce, pea shoots, mixed seeds and toast – YUM!

They then headed for a stroll around the beautiful Jephson Gardens, before walking over to The Royal Priors – Leamington Spa’s shopping haven full of well-loved British brands.

They then jumped back on train to spend the rest of the day back in the city, heading straight to the Bullring & Grand Central before heading over to shop the independents at the beautiful Great Western Arcade. The gorgeous Victorian Grade II listed building is packed full of charm, with an interesting history dating back to 1875 and today houses an eclectic mix of accessories, gifts, art, fashion, hair, beauty and food & drink places to go.

Sian and Nadine finished off their jam-packed day with dinner and drinks at vegetarian restaurant 1847.

A huge thanks to Sian for showing us her favourite places to explore as part of #WMexperiences. Check out Sian’s full post over on her blog.
