Castle Bromwich Secret Garden Exclusive Guided Tour

When visiting Birmingham, a trip to the Castle Bromwich Historic Gardens is an unmissable experience.  Situated conveniently on the edge of the city, the 10-acre grade II listed garden transports you back to the Dutch and French influenced formal Gardens of the late 17th century. In England, this garden is a very rare survival example of that style.

The Gardens are restored to as near as possible to the period 1680 to 1762 when they were at their Baroque peak after several generations of the Bridgeman Family (later to become the Earls of Bradford).

One of our expert garden guides will greet you and lead you on a gentle 1.5 hour walking tour around these 400 year old historic, rescued gardens. Visitors will experience an extravaganza of plants from around the world, learn about the Garden's rich and diverse Living Collection and discover a history dating back nearly 350 years.  The Holly Maze is a distorted mirror image of the one at Hampton Court Palace designed by George London and Henry Wise.

At the end of the tour you will take away a memento of the visit with some of our own local chutneys or jams made with produce from the gardens.
Tours are booked on request and being only 20 minutes from Birmingham International Airport makes it an easy couple of hours on the way in or way out of the country.
