The Coca-Cola Christmas Truck at Bullring & Grand Central

About

The iconic Coca-Cola Christmas truck returns to Bullring & Grand Central for the first time in seven years tomorrow, as part of an exciting new UK-wide tour.

Every year, millions around the world watch Coca-Cola’s sparkly red truck glide through snowy backdrops on television screens - signalling the start of Christmas.

Now Brummies will be able to see and experience the magic of the red truck for one day only, between 12pm-8pm.

As the most visited shopping destination in Birmingham, there is no better place for the Coca-Cola truck to park up than Bullring & Grand Central, which celebrated its 20th birthday this year.

Guests will be able to enjoy a wide range of interactive experiences, including a visit to the Ho-Ho-Hoop hut where they can participate in a game for the chance of winning a selection of prizes, including meal-inspired rewards and recycled Christmas tree decorations.

Families will also get the opportunity to take a memorable photograph with Coca-Cola’s 14-tonne truck, which will be located in St Martins Square. There will also be the opportunity to collect a free sample of the iconic soft drink, while listening to the Coca-Cola Christmas choir as they perform a set of carols. This year, Coca-Cola has partnered with Neighbourly, a giving platform that provides crucial support to local communities across the UK. Coca-Cola and Neighbourly will be supporting the local communities across the cities the Coca-Cola Truck Tour will be visiting through a volunteering scheme and donation drive. Those looking to donate to a local community supported by Coca-Cola and the Neighbourly Foundation* can do so online, or by using the QR code available at the Truck Tour.

It’s been a big year for Bullring & Grand Central which has evolved and diversified its offering this year. In a market first, Bullring transformed into a ‘late night venue’ to celebrate Pride, while new brands, concepts and uses to excite and engage customers, include boutique bowling brand,

Lane7, Sandbox VR, a new food-led Marks & Spencer, an upsized JD and Après Ski Bar this winter.

Dan Murphy, General Manager at Bullring & Grand Central, commented: “We are so excited to welcome back the Coca-Cola Christmas truck as part of its grand tour of the UK and we are encouraging our visitors to take this rare opportunity to see it in person when it arrives tomorrow.

“Our partnership with this iconic, high-profile brand marks the start of the festivities at Bullring & Grand Central.”

Florence Wheatley, Brand Manager at Coca-Cola Company, Great Britain, said: “Coca-Cola has been spreading Christmas cheer for decades and, this year, we’ve added even more exciting elements to make it as magical and merry as possible. Alongside the beloved return of the Truck Tour nationwide and the much loved 'Holidays Are Coming' advert, we have introduced new elements like the 'World Needs More Santas' TVC and an interactive Santa Quiz. We’re also thrilled to extend our partnership with Neighbourly, emphasising spreading kindness and making a positive impact across the UK. Together, we want to inspire year-round acts of goodwill and truly make a difference in all local communities."
