Sampad are delighted to present a double bill of world renowned Hindustani artists. Act 1 will present the virtuosic Johar Ali, visiting the country as the new Chair of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Johar Ali has performed thousands of music concerts all over the world including All India Radio and Doordashan.
Produced by Saudha Society of Poetry and Indian Music, Act 2 will be a tribute to one of the finest Hindustani classical vocalists that India has produced, Ustad Rashid Khan of Rampur-Sahaswan gharana. This classical and semi-classical presentation will be led by a senior disciple of Ustad Rashid Khan, Srimati Koyel Bhattacharya, as well as a senior disciple of Pt Subhankar Banerjee, Sri Kuntal Das. This tribute has been scripted and directed by poet Ahmed Kaysher.
