The RBC Afro-Cuban Jazz Orchestra bring irrepressible festival vibes to our Block Party, as we extend a warm NAC summer welcome to our neighbourhood. Also featuring DJ Stewart Kendrick
This lively band of wonderfully talented young musicians represents a collaboration between the Jazz and Percussion departments at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. They play exciting salsa music for dancing and full-on entertainment, featuring drums, brass and authentic vocal performances.
Co-directed by RBC tutors Shanti Jayasinha and Sophie Hastings, this ensemble has become one of the most in-demand groups of its type in the Midlands, performing regularly at the Conservatoire's own Eastside Jazz Club, and annually at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival.
Wolverhampton's own master DJ Stewart Kendrick complements the orchestra with some funky tunes in between sets.
