It’s no secret that when it comes to sports, Birmingham and the West Midlands know how to smash it out the park! Alongside an incredible range of regular fixtures, the region has a super exciting schedule of sports events for 2024 which are sure to be a huge hit.

Let’s take a walk through some of the year’s sporting events to add straight to your diary!


1. See the bullseyes fly at the 2024 BetMGM Premier League Darts, Utilita Arena (11 April) - EVENT PASSED

The 2024 BetMGM Premier League Darts is set to light up the oche on April 11th! Hosted by BetMGM, this eagerly awaited event promises a night of high-stakes darts featuring the world's best players.

Newly crowned World Champion Luke Humphries and 17-year-old sensation Luke Littler will headline the 2024 Premier League Darts line-up, as well as reigning champion Michael van Gerwen and last year's runner-up Gerwyn Price amongst many others. Mark your calendars and get ready for a night of unforgettable darts action!
 

2. Keep your eye on the ball at the British Kabaddi League 2024 at Centre AT7 Coventry (3-5 May)

Whether you’re already a fan of the popular Indian game or fancy watching an exciting new sport, make sure you experience all the British Kabaddi League has to offer this May. Since the inception of the league, Kabaddi - a mixture of tag and rugby - has become one of the fastest-growing sports in the UK, thrilling audiences with its fast-paced action and energy.
 

3. Knock it out of the park at England v Pakistan Women’s IT20, Edgbaston Stadium (11 May) and England v Pakistan Men’s IT20 (25 May)

England and Pakistan men’s and women’s teams will be swinging big this May at Edgbaston with some of the biggest names in international cricket taking to the pitch, from the great names of T20 cricket to fresh new talent. It will be the first time that England and Pakistan have gone head-to-head in an IT20 at Edgbaston, so it’s set to be full of exhilarating play that is sure to go down in history!
 

4. Make a racket at the British Open Squash 2024, The Repertory Theatre (2-9 June)

Considered the ‘Wimbledon of Squash’, the prestigious British Open will be coming to The Rep in Birmingham this year - the first time in the region since 2001! As squash’s longest-running tournament, the event will see the world’s best players, including England number ones Mohamed ElShorbagy and Georgina Kennedy, battle it out for the title. Expect a totally smashing event!
 

5. Have an ace time at the Rothesay Classic Birmingham Tennis, Edgbaston Priory Club (17-25 June)

The Birmingham Classic returns to Edgbaston Priory Club for a tournament which will see 20 of the world’s 50 players grace the grass, and it’s set to be absolutely ace! The 250-level international tennis tournament, seen as a warm-up for Wimbledon, has been hosted at the club since 1982. With its rich tradition and high-caliber play, this tournament is a must-see for tennis fans everywhere!



6. The place will be bouncing at the Netball Superleague Final, Resorts World Arena (29 June)

For the first time ever, Birmingham’s Resorts World Arena will be hosting the Netball Super League Grand Final! The UK’s top-level netball competition featuring eleven teams from England, Wales and Scotland, will see the best-of-the-best go head to head for the title. With a hit sold-out event last year, make sure to grab your tickets for the fantastic finale of the 2024 season!
 

7. You’ll be bowled over at the England v West Indies Test Match, Edgbaston Stadium (26-30 July)

Edgbaston’s summer international cricket calendar heats up yet again in July for a five-day Test Match between England and the West Indies for the first time since 2017. 8. Have a tee-riffic time at the 2024 Betfred British Masters, The Belfry (28 August - 1 September)

10. Lift your spirits at The Strongman Open 2024, Utilita Arena (7 September)

11. Trot off to the Horse of the Year Show 2024, The NEC (9-13 October)

The 74th edition of Horse of the Year Show will be at the NEC this October, and when it comes to equestrian entertainment this is certainly the place to be!
