A Sophisticated Afternoon Tea Served With a Slice of Jewellery

The Grand Hotel Birmingham is introducing a limited-edition version of its afternoon tea experience — the perfect way to celebrate a milestone, birthday, anniversary or just because. Elevating the experience to new heights, and in partnership with Birmingham based luxury jewellery brand V by Laura Vann, the new Sparkling Afternoon Tea will be available for two weeks from Wednesday to Sunday, from 29 May 2024.

Afternoon tea with a side of jewellery

The award-winning afternoon tea at The Grand is served in the Salon of Madeleine bar — a slice of Parisian chic on the city’s elegant Colmore Row. For this limited edition menu, each Afternoon Tea will be delivered with a glass of English Simpsons sparkling and a side of exquisite jewellery — a necklace from the esteemed V by Laura Vann collection. At £70 per person including the piece of jewellery, and with each item of jewellery worth over £70, this Sparkling Afternoon Tea demonstrates incredible value and a true, one-of-a-kind experience.

On the menu

The spring Afternoon Tea menu features classic savouries such as free range egg mayonnaise, and cucumber, dill and horseradish sandwiches, as well as a smoked salmon and asparagus tart. Sweet treats include Yorkshire rhubarb and stem ginger cake with rhubarb compote and crème diplomat and passionfruit tart and sudachi with sable biscuit. Guests will also enjoy a fresh take on the classic scone, including a lemon and poppy seed scone with earl grey compote and strawberry and vanilla preserve.
