About Nick Butterworth and the Percy Books

The first Percy book, One Snowy Night, although published over 30 years ago is a stalwart of the primary school curriculum and remains a firm favourite of both parents and children across the generations. Alongside Butterworth’s exquisite and magical illustrations, the gentle and caring character of Percy and his many wild animal friends continues to appeal to readers.

The Percy series now consists of eight main stories, supplemented by many other books focussing on the individual animal characters. Nick has sold over 20 million books worldwide, the stories were made into a animated series, voiced by Jim Broadbent in the 1990s.
