Cadbury World is inviting guests to discover the fascinating history of the Cadbury brand on selected dates during Birmingham Heritage Week.

As part of this year’s Birmingham Heritage Week celebrations, visitors are invited to discover the amazing world of Cadbury and Bournville Village with a Heritage Walking Tour, led by an expert Cadbury World guide.

Guests can discover the revolutionary thinking of John Cadbury and follow his family on their campaigns for justice, equality and social reform, striving to put an end to poverty and deprivation. While on the walk, visitors will learn about Bournville’s fascinating past with an exclusive sneak-peek into Birmingham’s unique ‘Factory in a Garden’, and view examples of beautiful architecture, the beautiful village green and the pretty tree-lined streets that Bournville is renowned for.

Before the Heritage Walking Tour, people can take a self-guided tour of Cadbury World where they will find an assortment of chocolatey zones to explore. Guests can discover the origins of the cocoa bean, learn how everyone’s favourite confectionery is made, and what’s more, watch the attraction’s talented chocolatiers work their magic as they reveal the secrets of traditional chocolate making whilst enjoying a delicious pot of warm melted Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate topped with their favourite treat.

Visitors can finish off their trip to the Bournville-based attraction with a trip down memory lane in Advertising Avenue and see how many of the iconic Cadbury adverts they can remember from years gone by.

Gerrard Baldwin, general manager at Cadbury World, commented: “We’re delighted to be celebrating Birmingham Heritage Week once again this year. This annual celebration gives the public a unique opportunity to discover the rich history of Cadbury confectionery, as well as being a fantastic way to commemorate the Cadbury family’s legacy here in Birmingham.”
