Operation Santa went live 4 weeks ago and in that has raised over £2,500 for disadvantaged families and children in Birmingham.

The Operation Santa project is a coming together of the local community in Kings Heath made up of a small team of volunteers, with residents and neighbours bringing their skills and talents together to actively support and raise money for the most vulnerable families in Druids Heath this Christmas.

Operation Santa has used this funding to make 180 gifts available to 120 children and over 60 parents at their upcoming drop in event.

Druids Heath is one of the most disadvantaged areas of Birmingham. The community gets little to no public funding support and is often overlooked in this respect and with the increased pressure of the pandemic over recent months, it is more important than ever that Operation Santa helps spread some festive cheer this Christmas.

Operation Santa will be partnering with The Spearhead Trust at Bells Farmhouse, a charity whose mission is to support and improve the lives of the Druids Heath Community, addressing complex social issues  such as domestic abuse, family support and healthy eating initiatives.

A representative for Spearhead said “Operation Santa has been an amazing event to be part of. The residents of Kings Heath will bring smiles and joy to the children’s faces in Druids Heath on Christmas morning”

The drop in event for Druids Heath residents will take place at The Spearhead Trust on Friday 18th December from 10am - 3pm, where families will be invited to come along and pick their Christmas gifts and treats.
