'Bad Roads' by Natal'ya Vorozhbit, Ukraine's Leading Playwright

About

"Masterly & Woundingly Memorable" - The Independent

'Bad Roads', by one of Ukraine's leading playwrights, Natal'ya Vorozhbit, is a heart-breaking, powerful, bitterly comic account of what it is to be a woman in wartime Ukraine.

Written in 2017 from first-hand interviews, including the playwright's own experiences, it was written in response to the 2014 Russian invasion to annex Crimea.

This will be the first time it has been performed in the UK since it's première at The Royal Court in 2017, and thus since the current Russian invasion, and is more relevant today than ever!

It starkly shows us the de-humanising impact of war on women and the dangers & desperate need that women & girls will be facing in Ukraine today.

We have teamed up with charity UN Women UK to help raise much-needed funds for women & girls on the ground in Ukraine right now. UN Women UK have partners on the ground able to get much-needed aid directly to those who need it most. We will be fundraising at each performance and have set up a JustGiving page so those unable to come to a show can still help www.justgiving.com/page/heretothereproductions-ukraine

Homes For Ukraine have also given us their support, keen for the stories of those they are helping be told.
