About

If you need a daytime pick-me-up from the monotony of working-from-home and home schooling, then the Virtual Barber Lunchtime Concerts Series may be the answer.

Beginning on Friday 12 February and then continuing fortnightly, music fans can enjoy a lunchtime concert from some of the UK’s leading musicians, streamed into their homes, at no charge.

The performing artists include The Linarol Consort, Oliver Wass, Oxford Lieder, Ben Goldscheider, Callino Quartet and Theo Plath, all of whom were due to perform in the Barber Concert Hall in Autumn 2020 and early 2021, but Covid restrictions meant that the planned live performances could not take place.

The online return of the Barber Concerts comes mid-way through the Barber’s 75th anniversary concert season, To celebrate 75 years, Barber Concerts is also presenting a selection of memories, archival material, photographs and virtual performances for audiences to enjoy.

This series is funded through the generosity of the Henry Barber Trust.
