Akamba offers a beautiful themed Africa garden centre like no other in the UK. Our Garden centre is located in Shirley, Solihull. We stock a wide range of exotic trees, palm trees, exotic plants and shrubs, garden ornaments such as large African style animals.
Akamba also has on site a bar, restaurant, café, reptile house and bird walk. We also have a great gift shop selling African styled gifts. You can also hire our venue for weddings & events. Akamba is also dog friendly all round, lots of water bowls available just in case your four legged friend gets thirsty.

From the M42:
Akamba Dickens Heath – B90 1PH: at J4 follow A34 towards Shirley/Birmingham. head towards Dickens Heath Village. YOU MUST PASS the first Tythe Barn Lane sign on your right, drive to next roundabout and turn right following signs for Whitlocks end train station, then first right onto Tythe Barn Lane. Follow the road round until you see Akamba ½ mile down on the right. Tel: 0121 733 3111
From Birmingham:
Follow the A34 ( Stratford road ) towards Shirley. Just before Shirley town centre turn right at the main traffic lights on to Hasslucks green road ( follow signs for Shirley train station) Once you pass the train station follow the road untill it turns sharp left onto Tilehouse lane, Tythe barn lane is the next left, Akamba is 100 metres on the left.
Akamba is on the main Stratford on Avon line, so we are easily reached by Birmingham Snow hill and Birmingham Moor st Stations as well as Stratford on Avon. Our nearest station is Whitlocks end which is a five minute walk from Akamba. Turn right out of the station then first left. For train times call train enquiries on 0845 7484950
