So, unless you've been living under a rock for the past few weeks, you'll be fully aware that the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup [CWC] is coming and we're proud to be one of the cities hosting not one, not two, but FIVE major matches this summer!

10 April marked 50 days to go and in celebration we have been posting one new Birmingham experience each day as we countdown the days until one of the most anticipated sporting events, kicking off this month.

The days are getting closer and the excitement is building, so if you haven't already, it's time to start planning your CWC experience! #CWCBirmingham

It is important to be fully fueled and raring to go to for the big day, whether thats by demolishing a lamb shank, crispy duck or (non) beefy roast (veggies and vegans not forgotton), we have fielded six of the best places to eat near Edgbaston Stadium.

1 - Damascena

Your award winning, local- far away coffee shop serving up top notch Turkish cuisine and coffee with a reputation as one of Birmingham's best spots! They do a ton of delicious breakfast dishes, making it the perfect opener to your day.

You can go all out with a fuul plate or an equally delicious, light salad or soup if you prefer. There's a range of milk-based coffees, brews, hot chocs and more, all accompanied beautifully with a slice of Damascena's delightful desserts.

3 - La Plancha

🦑 La Plancha, Moseley - Before we made our way the @bhambotanicalgardens for the magical lantern walk we popped in to @la_plancha_moseley on the off chance they had a spare table. Every table was reserved but they put us on a lovely table in the window from 6 till 8 before they needed it, yay 😃 We have never been for Tapas at La Plancha before so we were recommended to choose five dishes including bread and salad. It was also £5 cocktails at the time we went. - We chose battered squid rings, fried potatoes in a spicy tomato sauce, grilled Halloumi, toasted ciabatta bread, chicken quesadillas and spicy lamb brochetas. - Everything tasted amazing and was very filling was server quick and hot. The service was great, decorated nicely but a shame the weather was so cold outside 🥶 . . . . #tapas #laplancha #laplanchamoseley #spanishfood #spanish #cocktails #botanicalgardens #lantern #winter #christmas #fridaynight #Birmingham #lovebirmingham #lovebrum #solihull #moseley #lovefood #foodporn #drinks #drinkporn #foodies #foodiesofbrum #whattoeat #eatout #foodlover #vegan #foodstagram #goodfood #instagood #instafoods

5 - The Dark Horse

Perfection takes time and that's why The Dark Horse use their trusty friend 'little Lois' the Smoker to slow cook high quality feasts and meats until they’re succulent enough to melt in the mouth and fall off the bone, American style.

And in true America fashion, The Dark Horse don't do things by the half. On top of their insane American bbq smokehouse menu, they do home-made pizzas, burgers, salads and sides, everything you need after a day in the sunshine cheering on your favourite team as they bowl to glory at Edgbaston Cricket Ground.

 6 - Zindiya

Last but most definitely not least, husband and wife Ajay and Shivani Kenth brought their concept of an immersive experience of India – drinking chai or Limca, eating chaat and gol gappe – in a casual and fun environment to life with Zindiya.

They wanted to recreate the exotic and busting aura of Indian cities in their hometown, Moseley, Birmingham. Their menus offer an out of this World experience with menus showcasing quality: side street, chaat street, a la cart, grill, vegan, high chai and dessert dishes! Zindiya's cocktail menu will also take you on an exciting journey of flavours from around India.

If this didn’t bowl you over, strike lucky with 10% off your food bill when you show your Cricket World Cup ticket up until 14.07.19!
