Join tutor Liz Hyder for a fun and interactive in-person short story course exploring the joy of fairy tales and folklore. Learn about world-building and character, structure and intent, and how to apply some of the techniques of fairy tales and folklore to your own writing.
You'll examine just why certain stories are so long-lasting, the power of a twist in the tale, and create your own subversive modern tales, drawing from your own interests and backgrounds.
The workshops will consist of fun writing exercises, useful tips and tricks, in-class discussions, and opportunities to share your creative writing as it develops. Every participant will develop and complete a brand new fairy tale which will be published in a Comma Press ebook. Liz will be on hand to empower and encourage you throughout.
