Expect mixed terrain as the route uses national cycle routes, segregated lanes, shared paths, parks/green spaces, canals and quiet roads. Explore the route in shorter sections or all in one go. A short 5-mile route great for building confidence cycling as a family with a mixture of shared paths and quiet roads. Starting and finishing at Hollymoor Park, use it to travel into Rubery and around the local area, visiting attractions such as Empire Cinema & IMAX and Hollywood Bowl along the way, as well as discovering hidden greenspaces
Enjoy a lovely day out by bike or foot from Longbridge Train Station. With so many spots to explore, you may want to do this route in shorter sections. Expect mixed terrain, bridleways and shared paths, a bit of mud if it’s been wet and some big hills! This route is worth every step, pedal or push of the bike with spectacular views of the Lickey Hills and surrounding areas. You’ll also find plenty of pitstops along the way, including cafes, parks and toilets, so feel free to take it slow and enjoy a refreshing day outdoors.

Starting from Kings Norton Junction, this is a handy route for those wanting to build confidence cycling or enjoy a stroll away from the hustle and bustle. Easily accessible from Hawkesley Community Centre or existing cycle routes, including Rea Valley Route/NCR5, Birmingham Worcester canal or NCR55.
Explore South Birmingham’s picturesque heritage sites with this fun-filled route. Mostly traffic-free using shared paths, parks and only a few roads. You can also break this 14-mile route up and try shorter sections, using it to access spots such as Rowheath Pavillion, the viewpoint over Bartley Green Reservoir, as well as other green spaces and points of interest for all the family.
This route starts from Selly Oak Train Station and is a lovely tour mostly traffic-free along Bournbrook and into Woodgate Valley Country Park, one of Birmingham's fantastic greenways. You’ll find relics of the Ice Age, several erratic boulders varying in size and shape, as well as lush green spaces and fab places to visit including one of Birmingham's great heritage sites.
A great tour of the city this route boasts all sorts of interesting highlights from the Harborne Walkway and lovely blossom trees to dinosaurs at Lapworth Museum and ‘one of the finest small art galleries in Europe’, The Barber Institute of Fine Arts. You may want to do this route in sections, combining public transport if needed — there are good connections from University and City Centre, and hire bikes available at multiply places along the route.

Easily split into shorter manageable rides or walks, this route explores cycle lanes, parks, canals and green spaces, local high streets and great visitor attractions for all the family. Enjoy a little adventure exploring green spaces and a lovely stretch of canal as well as experiencing great local neighbourhood vibes in Balsall Heath, Moseley or Kings Heath. There's lots of great places to visit on this route including heritage sites and a city farm. You can even discover some of the locations which were a great inspiration to JRR Tolkien, aurthor of The Lord of the Rings.

With so much to see and lots of places to visit you can easily split this route into sections and enjoy great days out by bike or foot.
