Harborne’s Iconic Burger Spot Returns After Four Best Friends Team Up for Reopening

Beloved Burger hotspot Bun & Barrel, on Harborne High Street, has reopened its doors after 5 months of closure. The restaurant known for the ‘Best Burgers In Birmingham’ was devastatingly forced to close in October last year, however, four best friends have teamed up and worked around the clock, putting their passion for the industry into reopening this local favourite once again.  

Sticking to the same recipe’s which lead to the joint's well earned reputation amongst the food gems in Birmingham, the local lads have also introduced a couple new dishes, expanded the drinks menu and given the locally loved pool table a new orange makeover! 

Bun & Barrel will continue to work alongside local ale connoisseurs Attic Brew, in addition to offering a wider range of draught beer brands. The team have also installed a brand-new bar showcasing a wide range of spirits and liquors, with a mixologist ready to serve up their electric new range of cocktails.

The re-launch has allowed the Independent powerhouse to tailor the restaurant to local tastes, owner TJ explained “We want to be the most unique place on the High Street, there are some really good options here but we want to offer something that the high street hasn't seen before and for us that is super exciting”. 

Full of fresh ideas, nothing is off the table with owner AJ expressing his desire to introduce interactive events such as quiz and comedy nights, as well as beginning a Pool team to join the Birmingham Pool league, putting the iconic centre-stage pool table to good use.

After the first couple of weeks of trade taking the high street by storm, the team are eager to continue the full capacity turnouts throughout 2024. With getting to know everyone who swings by the hotspot being their core value, owner Bobby explained “We want to be the go-to place on the High Street for a good night out. I'd encourage people to book ahead on Fridays and Saturdays for food as we are seeing slots booked up much quicker than we thought!”
