Winter wonder at Sandwell’s museums

Join Sandwell Council’s museums this Christmas as they unwrap festive fun for all the ages – from crafts to carol singing.

For families with young children, Santa’s magical grottos are open at Haden Hill House, Bromwich Hall and Oak House. Additionally, the museums are offering Christmas craft sessions, festive trails and an opportunity to play in the snow!

The Hobgoblin Theatre Company will be staging their ever-popular pantomime at Wednesbury Museum on 2 December – this year’s production will be The Three Musketeers. The museum will also be hosting sessions for children with additional needs later in the month, with a multisensory, interactive journey to the North Pole.

There are plenty of opportunities for adults get into the holiday spirit this December, including medieval music evenings, carol singing with the Salvation Army, a wreath making workshop and open days, complete with fairground rides and live music.

The historical houses will be suitably dressed for the Christmas season with traditional decorations and greenery.

Sandwell Council’s Cabinet Member for Leisure and Tourism, Councillor Charn Singh Padda, said: “I can’t think of a better way to begin the festive season than by getting involved in one of these wonderful activities. There truly is something for everyone.

“These activities are a shining example of the diverse and entertaining events that are offered by the council’s fantastic museums all year long.”

Residents are advised that pre-booking may be required and that charges will apply for certain activities.
