TOA Taxis is Birmingham's oldest and largest black cab firm, supplying a 24-hour radio service and complying with all licensing requirements. An independent business with drivers owning a share of the business and not for profit, TOA was established in 1961, and has served Birmingham for over 50 years. We have the largest and most modern fleet of GPS satellite controlled taxis in the city.

All TOA taxis are wheelchair accessible and we offer a variety of services including local pickup, courier services and airport transfers. All TOA drivers have passed the Birmingham City Council Hackney Carriage Knowledge test and hold NVQ diplomas, to ensure the highest possible standard. Our drivers are both professional and trustworthy; each one has been DBS checked.

Our call centre is based in Harborne, Birmingham. All our staff and drivers have an intimate knowledge of the city and are friendly and professional. We are passionate about our local community and often take part in charity events, offering our services free of charge.

All TOA meters are fitted, tested & sealed by the Birmingham Trading Standards and tracked by our in-house GPS System. TOA is one of the only taxi companies in Birmingham to operate on the Cordic system, to offer passengers the option of paying via Zapper; an electronic payment processing system using proprietary QR Codes and smartphone technology to allow faster, simpler and more secure payments, and TOA has also launched an iPhone and Android Booker App which can be used to book, track and pay for taxis with ease and efficiency. Customers can also book, track and pay for taxis via TOA’s website.

Taxi services - and provider standards - have come a long way in half a century, and TOA's vision and planning continues to lead the way in driving them forward.
