Ironically, for a club nicknamed The Villans, you’ll find many an unsung hero behind the scenes at Aston Villa. Like official tour guide, Mick Dale, for example. Not for showing off the trophy room, fulfilling as that is. But for the role he and the club play in the community and their commitment to helping make lives better. “I have the job of my dreams working at Aston Villa. As well as taking the tours, I undertake many varied, satisfying tasks with no day being the same. Whether it be helping raise money for Acorns Children's Hospices, going into a local school with Shay Given to help with reading classes or taking our mascots Hercules, Bella and Chip to the FA Cup Final at Wembley. I am privileged not only to work at the club I support but also to see at close hand how they embrace the community and this vibrant city we live in.” You might say they deserve a trophy for that, too.
