Cineworld set to open new 11 screen cinema in Birmingham NEC

Cineworld, the UK’s leading cinema chain, will be opening its latest cinema in Birmingham NEC in time for the hotly anticipated Bond film, SPECTRE, at the end of October 2015.

The new cinema will feature 11 screens, including IMAX® as well as a Starbucks and Baskin Robbins – delivering a truly immersive cinematic experience.

The new multiplex cinema will be the third cinema within the Birmingham area, situated within the new shopping centre, Resorts World. The new cinema’s IMAX® will offer cinemagoers crystal clear images with its cutting-edge projection and curved screen, coupled with its customised theatre design and powerful digital sound system. The IMAX Experience® will create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the film – making it a perfect addition to the Cineworld cinematic offering across Birmingham.

Cineworld’s portfolio in Birmingham will now offer guests 32 screens and the capacity to seat over 2,635 people across Cineworld Birmingham Broad Street, Solihull and Birmingham NEC, ensuring local audiences the best movie going experience possible.

Kris Unthank, Cineworld Birmingham NEC General Manager, comments:

With IMAX® offering such an amazing cinema experience we’re over the moon it is part of our new cinema. With such an exciting line-up of films this autumn, like SPECTRE and Star Wars: The Force Awakens, we look forward to welcoming the community and sharing our passion for film.

Andrew Cripps, IMAX EMEA President, adds:
