Get the train from Birmingham Airport to Birmingham city centre

One of the best ways to get from arrivals to the centre is via the Air-Rail Link, which is a free, above-ground train shuttle.

The Air-Rail Link connects the airport directly to Birmingham International Railway station. From there, trains run to Birmingham New Street station multiple times per hour and take about ten minutes.

Get the bus from Birmingham Airport to Birmingham city centre

The National Express X1 route includes bus stops around Birmingham Airport and the National Exhixition Centre and stops there every 15-30 minutes. You can take the route either towards Birmingham city centre or towards Coventry.

In Birmingham, the bus stops at Bordesley Rail Station, Adderley Street, Birmingham Coach Station, Park Street next to St Martins Church, and Birminghanm Moor Street Station next to the unmissable Selfridges Birmingham building.

This bus route can take around 40 minutes to get from the airport to the city centre, although this might vary considerably during peak traffic hours, so it is always important to plan ahead.
