A solo exhibition by Gabrielle Roberts-Dalton RBSA.
In the autumn 2021 Gabrielle began a series of work called Wintering. This was about a time of contemplation and meditation on the fallow periods of life.
The Silent Woman series (2022-23) evolved from the Wintering series. She wanted to embrace silence to settle into the moment and quiet any racing thoughts. Each painting captures a transient moment in time. The flowers and plants, either in bloom or wilting, together with the watchful figure aim to engage the viewer in reflection.
Gabrielle's semi self-portraits make a shape for herself. Looking closely at nature and embracing silence helps to stimulate the brain and allows the processing of information in the context of a noisy technological world.
