About

Experience the magic of Christmas with our spectacular London production of The Nutcracker – presented in Birmingham for the first time ever.  Clara's journey to the Kingdom of Sweets is one of the most captivating Christmas story of all. Originally created for the Royal Albert Hall, and being performed at Birmingham Hippodrome for one year only, this production uses immersive projections from 59 Productions (War Horse, London 2012 Opening Ceremony) and a dazzling wall of mirrors to tell this timeless tale. Join us as we take a magical midnight odyssey from Drosselmeyer (the voice of Simon Callow) and his toyshop to the Stahlbaums' spectacular Christmas party, via King Rat's wild battle with the Nutcracker to the land of the Sugar Plum Fairy. With the Company's world-class dancers centre stage and the Royal Ballet Sinfonia raised on a platform above them, this is a Nutcracker like no other. Don't miss it. We're presenting this special staging while Sir Peter Wright's classic production undergoes a million-pound renovation – thanks in large part to generous audience support via the Big Give. Sir Peter's production will be back in 2022 looking better than ever.
