A free, fun outdoor family day on Union Street in Wednesbury to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. There’s something for everyone: live music, street performers, balloon artistry, stilt walker, face painting, free goody bags for children, free refreshments tea, coffee and royal cake.
We’ll have an exhibition of archival photographs of the Queen’s visit to Wednesbury from 1962, so come and let us know if you were there and share your memories. There will also be an exhibition of portraits of the Queen made by Wednesbury school children and you can have your portrait taken with the Queen (aka Patricia Ford), to remember this special day.
This family day is part of ‘We are Wednesbury’, a cultural, community engaged programme that is being developed by Multistory with, and for, local residents, groups and communities. ‘We are Wednesbury’ is part of the Wednesbury High Street Heritage Action Zone, funded by Sandwell Council and Historic England.
Free entry.
If you’re coming from outside Wednesbury, arrive via the A41 dual carriageway.
