Françaix and Ravel

City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO), Berkley Street, BIRMINGHAM, West Midlands, B1 2LF
Françaix and Ravel

About

Incredible but true: when Ravel's String Quartet was premiered in belle époque Paris, it caused a scandal. Today, it's hard to imagine Ravel's grace, melody and wit provoking anything but delight – especially when paired with the joyous Clarinet Quintet by France's master of musical humour, Jean Françaix. It's nearly time for the holidays: so join us, and greet the summer with the musical equivalent of an Aperol Spritz.
