This is your chance to visit the home of BBC Birmingham, which hosts a number of popular shows such as The Archers and Midlands Today, as well as BBC WM and BBC Asian Network.
BBC Tour Guides will give a fascinating insight into the many programmes originating from BBC Birmingham and tell you the inside story of what it takes to get them from script to screen. They are also on hand to answer any burning questions relating to technical wizardry and there is always the chance of bumping into a favourite TV or radio presenter, hearing some trade secrets or being party to some juicy gossip while passing the actors' Green Room. During the Tour, we'll take you inside as many studios as business allows, and you can even take part in a special recording of a radio drama, complete with sound effects and music! Please remember that BBC Birmingham is a working building and no two tours are the same.
Tours last up to 1 hour 30 minutes and take place in the evenings and at weekends. The building is wheelchair accessible. All children under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
If tour times are not suitable, then come and visit the Public Space at BBC Birmingham which is open every day and free to visit. From BBC Birmingham’s Public Space visitors can look into BBC WM and the BBC Asian Network radio studios and into the Production Gallery which broadcasts BBC Midlands Today. There is a BBC shop and interactive areas giving visitors the chance to read and record a news item or present a weather forecast.
