A brand new pizzeria and bar has opened in the heart of Edgbaston to rave reviews.

Serving up Neapolitan style pizzas, quality wines and seasonal twists on classic cocktails, Smoke + Ash is independently owned by Paul and Clare Collins who opened their first restaurant earlier this month.

Joining the ever-growing Edgbaston hospitality scene as part of the Greenfield Crescent development, the pizzeria is already making a name for itself as one of the top destinations in the city for the perfect slice.

Clare says: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the positive response to our opening. Our launch day coincided with the Edgbaston artisan market and Christmas lights switch on.

“To say it was a good day to open is an understatement – we’d totally sold out by 9pm. Since then we’ve had some fantastic feedback from a whole host of people, with local residents, students, families and a fair number of Italians enjoying our food and drink.”

They’re now launching a speedy weekday lunch menu alongside the main menu pizzas and sharing boards, introducing smaller pizzettes with side salads as well as Italian panuozzo sandwiches.

Fillings including a vegan tomato, avocado and vinaigrette, goats’ cheese with onion jam, and Prosciutto with rocket.

As well as the new lunch menu, Smoke + Ash is now available for both click and collect and local delivery via Deliveroo.

Paul says: “We’re keen to make Smoke + Ash as accessible as possible and serve the local community. We’ve worked so hard with our chefs to ensure the dough is perfect, and we’re always sourcing quality ingredients and evolving our offering to ensure the guest experience is exceptional, whether you eat in or out.”

The Sunday exclusive “Margherita vs Margarita” deal also launched last weekend. Mix and match any two Margherita pizzas or Chilli + Yuzu Margaritas for £16, from 2-7pm every week – all with a curated Sunday soundtrack.

Opening officially on Saturday 12th November, the venue has brought 15 new jobs to the area after an extensive recruitment drive earlier in autumn.

“We’ve curated a really enthusiastic team; from front of house to the kitchen. It was important for us to work with local talent and build further career opportunities. The team have been working hard to look after every customer, whether takeaway, dining in or bar drinks, and we are all delighted with the results.

“We can’t wait to see what Smoke + Ash can become in 2023.”

Offering a classy but comfortable setting, Smoke + Ash provides a relaxed day-to-evening venue to meet friends and family for an affordable meal in one of Birmingham’s most popular suburbs.

“The on-going cost of living crisis is, of course, a concern but we aim to support our guests as much as we possibly can with an affordable offering. We’re also really proud to be working with a host of Birmingham suppliers including Attic Brewery and Birmingham Brewing Co, Spirit of Birmingham, Odi and Moo ice cream and Tutto Apposto cannoli to support fellow independents.”

Smoke + Ash is open Wednesday to Sunday. Walk-ins are welcome and the venue is also available for parties and private hire. You can find updates via the Instagram page.
