Birmingham Phoenix’s fixtures have been announced for the return of The Hundred, with Edgbaston hosting four match days packed with exciting cricket, world-class players and family entertainment.

The Hundred returns after its successful launch last year with families and new audiences heading to Edgbaston, and both the Birmingham Phoenix men and women will compete to be crowned champions at The Hundred Final at Lord’s on Saturday 3 September.

The first date to get in the diary is Wednesday 10 August as Birmingham Phoenix men host Southern Brave at Edgbaston in a repeat of last year’s men’s final.

The Hundred is a key part of an incredibly exciting summer for the women’s game, with women’s cricket featuring in the Commonwealth Games for the very first time. As a result, The Hundred women’s competition will get underway after the conclusion of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, on Thursday 11 August.

The return of double-header cricket - where both men’s and women’s teams play on the same day with tickets entitling fans to watch both games – starts on Monday 15 August with a local derby against the Trent Rockets.

The action then continues with Northern Superchargers on Friday 19 August, before closing the campaign on Sunday 28 August against Manchester Originals.

The second and third placed teams will face each other at the Ageas Bowl in the men’s and women’s The Hundred Eliminator on Friday 2 September, with the winners progressing to the showpiece final to face the group stage winners at Lord’s the following day.

Warwickshire Members and people who attended in 2021 will get priority access to tickets in late February, with a second window opening on 31 March for anyone who has signed up via thehundred.com. 2022 Worcestershire Members will also get access to games via the Members pre-sale. Tickets will then go on general sale on 20 April.

Tickets will provide unbelievable value for families with prices set at £5 for under 16s and free for children aged five and under. There will be even more activities around the ground to entertain families alongside the world-class cricket on the pitch. And ticket buyers will be able to choose their own seats this year, including in a family-friendly zone.

Games will be broadcast live on Sky Sports and the BBC throughout the competition after more than 16 million tuned in to watch The Hundred in 2021.

Moeen Ali, Birmingham Phoenix men’s Captain said: “The Hundred got off to an incredible start last year. It was really special to lead my home team and play in front of packed houses at Edgbaston. The way the fans got behind us was amazing to see and I hope the team can go one better this year and lift the trophy at Lord’s.”

Sanjay Patel, Managing Director for The Hundred said, “The Hundred helped grow the game last year. With more than 500,000 tickets sold and issued and 16 million watching on TV – with half of them being new to cricket - we saw a new audience enjoying the game for the first time.

“We can’t wait to build on that this year, bringing world class cricket and an incredible family day out to fans across England and Wales.”

Squads for The Hundred will be finalised over the coming months.
