Award winning conference and events venue Millennium Point has announced a brand-new series of film screenings and themed events for the festive season.

Millennium Point’s 354-seater Auditorium (formerly the first IMAX cinema in Birmingham) will screen two film favourites this autumn. The venue has teamed up once more with innovative event specialists The Wine Events Company, who will pause the films to provide movie-lovers with fun film trivia and themed wines during the screenings.

Oscar-winning musical biography Rocketman will be showing on Saturday 13 November, offering visitors the chance to relive some of Elton John’s greatest hits on the giant screen while enjoying five themed wines. On Sunday 5 December, visitors can kick off the Christmas season in style as they watch Richard Curtis’ ultimate festive rom-com Love Actually, alongside five themed wines to truly get into the Christmas spirit.

Tickets for Rocketman and Love Actually are priced at £31.95 per person and include five glasses of themed wine, which will be served to visitors throughout the film.

And for those looking to add the glamour of the big screen to their Christmas party this year, Millennium Point’s Hollywood Film Party package invites visitors to take a seat in the venue’s Auditorium and enjoy an exclusive festive film screening of their choice. Feel-good Christmas classics Love Actually, Elf, Home Alone and Die Hard are all available to watch on the giant screen while guests can choose from four delicious dishes to enjoy throughout the movie.

The Hollywood Film Party package is priced at £42.50 per person, and includes a welcome glass of fizz, a choice of popcorn and a private bar.

Rebecca Delmore, commercial director at Millennium Point, said: “We’re so excited to announce our brand-new events schedule which is guaranteed to get everyone in the Christmas spirit. Whether you’re enjoying the magic of cinema on our giant screen or booking our exclusive Christmas party package with an extra dose of Hollywood glamour, there’s something for everyone. We can’t wait to welcome guests for a festive experience to remember.”

Other events at Millennium Point this autumn include the 10-day international film celebration Birmingham Film Festival (19-28 November) and the Christmas Wine & Spirits Fair (27 November) by award winning local merchants Loki Wine.
