A huge 6m high giraffe model made from over 30,000 Lego bricks is sporting a large 40cm wide face mask in an appeal to remind members of the public to do the same.

The giraffe, named Gerry, is located outside the entrance to Legoland Discovery Centre at Arena Birmingham.

“We’re all about making things fun and of course we also take health and safety very seriously,” explains Guest Experience Manager, Hannah Carr.

“With the continuation of enhanced safety procedures in the post-covid world, we are reminding everyone to stay safe and wear a face mask when visiting.

So in true Legoland Discovery Centre style, we’re hoping to engage people with the message of wearing a face mask in a fun way that’s engaging for kids too!”

Legoland Discovery Centre Birmingham reopened in July with extensive health and safety measures in place for guests, including online only booking, temperature checks on arrival, PPE and enhanced cleaning. The attraction is open daily and tickets can be booked online at birmingham.legolanddiscoverycentre.co.uk
