Food fans assemble! The BBC Good Food Show Winter is making a welcome return to the NEC this week.

Running from Thursday 28 November until Sunday 1 December, the show is pretty much the largest delicatessen you'll ever come across – with artisan producers rubbing shoulders with Michelin chefs to showcase their culinary offerings.

With so many free samples to taste, and chefs to see, we've picked the best of the bunch from Birmingham. Remember to pop over and say hello to our local foodie heroes.

1.    Corn poppin’ good

Based down the road rather than Down Under, Joey Koala’s gourmet popcorn is made by true caramel connoisseurs. Top flavours to try and buy include Banoffee Pie, Smoked Paprika and Pink Himalayan Salted Caramel.

2.    Michelin man

Brad Carter worked in France and Spain before setting up Michelin-starred restaurant Carters of Moseley. He will be bringing his unique cooking style to the BBC Good Food Stage on Saturday. A must-see for any fine dining fans.

3.    Red red wine

Shawbury Wine is a family-run business that opened nearly 20 years ago. The company sells wines that are hand-picked from all over the world, often from small boutique wine producers. Shawbury Wine also hosts wine tasting sessions.

4.    A taste of sunshine

Local mother and daughter team Monica and Lee founded Tan Rosie in 2010. They’ve created tantalising Caribbean food and ingredients based on family recipes from the islands of Grenada and Carriacou – and run a cookery school in Birmingham too.

5.    Cream of the crop

Top city chefs making an appearance at the BBC Good Food Show including Liam Dillion from the Boat Inn, Mike Bullard from The Butcher’s Social, Harvey Pertolla from Maribel, Munayam Khan from the Lasan Group and Jaques Van Der Merwe from the soon-to-open Jaques Restaurants.
