By sourcing in bulk, selling without packaging and encouraging customers to bring their own containers to refill, they’re challenging the status quo and promoting environmentally friendly shopping ♻️🍃 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Most of the products are either organic or artisan-made and they’ve recently won ‘Best Grocer’ 2018 award from Slow Food UK, an organisation that strives for good, clean and fair food. Since opening June ’18 the company has saved nearly 130,000 pieces of plastic from potentially existing/entering the environment in just one year! 💚 ____________________ 📸: @brumtopia @bethpell83 #GREATBritishFood

Dining at the @the_oysterclub Birmingham last night 😍⁣ ⁣ Do you like Oysters? Tell me which wine you would pair with them? Let me know in the comments below ⬇️⁣ ⁣ The restaurant is the brainchild of the fantastic Adam Stokes of @restaurantadams 🍴 The relationship between the two is clear to see; the attention to detail, professionalism of the staff, quality of the produce and ultimately the outstanding finished product 🐟 ⁣ ⁣ The Oyster Club offers a casual and relaxed approach to dining. With an Oyster Bar which offers an array of fresh, delicious Oysters, a menu focussing on Seafood and a stunning Wine List. A comfortable bar offers customers a walk-in option, allowing you to pop in for a few Oysters after work. Alternatively you can book in advance to celebrate a special occasion in the restaurant 🎊 ⁣ ⁣ For food we had six Jersey Rock Oysters, Crispy Squid, White Crab on Toast, Octopus Salad, Seared Tuna Sashimi and Wagyu Burger 🐄 ⁣ ⁣ Andddd for wine 😋 We had 2013 Blanc de Blanc @hattingleywines 2017 Chablis Les Vaillon Bernard Defaix, 2015 Meursault Jean-Michel Gaunoux, 2016 Chorey Maillaird and 2014 Barolo Fontanafredda 🇮🇹 ⁣ ⁣ Is the Oyster Club cheap? No, and it’s not supposed to be, so don’t expect it. What you do get is value for money, it was an outstandingly good experience. The food is, in my opinion, faultless. An absolutely refreshing addition to Birminghams culinary offering 🌃 ⁣ ⁣ #wine #vivino #winelover #wino #vineyard #winereview #winesofinstagram #winereviewer #wineporn #winestagram #sommelier #winetasting #winelover #winelovers #wineoclock #wineoftheday #winery #cheers #wineworld #winenot #winetime #winegeek #barolo #chablis #oystersandwine #oysters #birminghamfoodies #birminghamfood #birmingham

Great wine is synonymous with vibrant culture, amazing food and social dynamism 🌃 ⁣ ⁣ What’s your favourite wine bar outside of London? Let me know in the comments below ⬇️⬇️ Mine is @lokiwine in Birmingham 🏢⁣ ⁣ Loki opened its first branch in the city in 2012, since then Loki has expanded, now boasting a further branch in Edgebaston 🌲 ⁣ ⁣ Lokis owner, Phil, worked his way up in the wine industry with stints at Oddbins and Wine-rack. Loki flies in the face of industry tradition by encouraging people to try, sample and discover before purchasing 🍇 ⁣ ⁣ The wines on tasting are consistently interesting, vibrant and diverse in flavour-profile and budget 💰 ⁣ ⁣ In my opinion, what makes Loki different is the staff. All of the staff at Loki love wine, whenever I visit they are keen to speak to me about my latest trips, tastings and wine experiences 👫⁣ ⁣ Loki has 72 wines available to taste 7 days a week. The enomatic machines ensure that every wine they serve is done so at the optimum temperature, and with as little interference from the atmosphere as humanly possible 🍷 ⁣ ⁣ Personally I think Loki is the leading wine retailer and bar in Birmingham, if you happen to visit the city please pop in and taste, Loki also offers tasty meat and cheese boards so you won’t go hungry 😋 ⁣ ⁣ #wine #vivino #winelover #wino #vineyard #winereview #winesofinstagram #winereviewer #wineporn #winestagram #sommelier #winetasting #winelover #winelovers #wineoftheday #winery #cheers #wineworld #winenot #winetime #winegeek #winelife #winestore #ukwine #birminghamblogger #birminghamfoodie #brumfood #birminghamfood
