Arrgghh it’s that dreaded time of year again... Schools have closed their doors for the week and the children have been set loose!

It seems like there is nowhere to escape to for all of us wanting to avoid the screams and tantrums of the little ones. The thought of leaving the comfort of your home and finding a child-free zone fills you with anxiety.

However, there is no need to worry! It turns out Birmingham is one of the best places to escape to for those of you wanting refuge and peace.

Without further ado, here are our top 6 child-free places to go to in Birmingham.

1. If drinking and playing golf are two of your favourite things, then Ghetto Golf is perfect for you!

This seriously cool bar offers a memorable golfing experience combined with a variety of exceptional cocktails and a DJ! As this place is strictly for those 18+, you’ll be able to enjoy a jazzy cocktail in peace as you make your way around the golfing course, having the best time of your life.

2. Switch off, escape the real world and have the fanciest cinema experience of your life at Everyman Cinema

You’ll also never be at a loss with what to watch as this luxurious cinema has new film screenings and events every Monday! Each theatre room has its own unique décor and personality, and is also complete with plush seating and fancy footstalls and sidetables. What’s even better is that you can get food and drink delivered straight to your seat, meaning that you won’t have to worry about missing a second of the film.

Although there aren’t any ages restrictions, as this cinema screams exclusivity, I doubt you’ll find any children walking around and spoiling the fun.

3. Laugh your socks off at The Glee Club!

With weekly fast paced and spontaneous shows featuring top-rated comedians, you are guaranteed a night full of laughter at this award winning club, the home of Brum comedy. This iconic club has spent decades entertaining visitors and locals and is the perfect place to visit if you want to do something different with your evening. With night time shows being only for those aged 18+, you won’t have to fear seeing a gruesome child.

4. You are guaranteed a good and childfree time with anything that involves alcohol!

Whether you want to take part in a cocktail masterclass or sample some wine (or gin), the city has it all!

Escape to the South Pacific and Caribbean as you learn how to mix the perfect cocktail at Island Bar. Under the guidance of expert staff, take part in a fun-filled session, which will teach you the art of cocktail making.

Send your taste buds into overload sampling delicious wines from Loki. Located in the Great Western Arcade, this incredible tasting house and boutique wine merchant offers some of the best and most unique wines from around the world at affordable prices. Furthermore, if you want to increase your knowledge of fine wines, or want to taste something before you buy, Loki has state-of-the-art wine tasting machines, and over 40 wines available to taste.

5. Speaking of alcohol... stay up late and embark on a bar crawl around the city and enjoy a child free night with a fancy cocktail, glass of wine, pint of beer and a couple of shots at one of the city’s many top-rated bars.

Grab your dancing shoes, put on your best rags and have one hell of a party at Be at One. Not only can you enjoy cocktails at happy-hour, but as this bar is open until 3am, you’ll be able to party all night.

Found in The Arcadian, Olivia’s Townhouse is a stylish cocktail bar. With its electric atmosphere and spectacular décor, you’ll think that you were in a high-end London cocktail bar. You’ll never want to leave Olivia’s with its state-of-the-art dancefloor, prosecco and cocktails!

6. Creep yourself out with #TooCute at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.

With its sinister toys and eerie artwork, this exhibition is a must visit. Artist Rachel Maclean cleverly examines the world of cuteness by revealing how objects and images can be both sweet and sinister.

At first glance it seems that this exhibition would be for the little ones, but delve deeper and that’s not the case!
