About

Located in the Heart of England, Coventry is easily accessible by car and public transport and situated in the city centre you will find Coventry Cathedral, where splendid medieval history meets modern architecture to stunning and poignant effect.

Visitors can explore our Ruined Cathedral, destroyed by enemy raids during the Second World War, which now stands as a moving reminder of the horrors of war. Those of you who are feeling energetic can climb our Tower, which survived the Blitz and at 295ft is the third highest in England. Once you’re back on Terra Firma you can browse the gift shop located in the Tower Base, which stocks a range of books and souvenirs.

Standing proudly alongside the Ruins is our magnificent ‘New’ Cathedral, featuring works by some of the greatest artists of the 1950s and 60s. Designed as a ‘casket of jewels’ by Sir Basil Spence, as you move through the building you will experience a journey like no other.

A tour from one of our expert guides will really bring the building to life, or alternatively you can purchase a map or guidebook from our friendly Welcome Team. Once you have taken in our stunning building why not complete your visit with a trip to ‘Rising from the Rubble’ café which is consistently voted the best in Coventry.

We can cater for groups of any size and we would love to welcome yours. Visit www.coventrycathedral.org.uk to book your chance to hear our story of peace and reconciliation in a truly breath-taking setting.
