About

Birmingham has a rich and varied heritage which reflects its transition from small country town to great industrial city. Birmingham Heritage Forum is an informal network of people concerned with collections, historic sites, museums, galleries, gardens and other heritage attractions, conservation and visitor services, within the Birmingham area.

Some members are large employers while others are individuals representing small sites or sites run by volunteers. Between them members welcome around two million visitors a year.

The Heritage Forum was established in 1991 by Birmingham Museums & Art Gallery. Since 1997 it has been an independent society.

Members are keen to share their enthusiasm for Birmingham’s heritage and to encourage interest in it, especially among children and young people who will be the guardians of our heritage in future.

The Heritage Forum promotes members’ sites through its own website, with links to individual members’ websites, and to other Birmingham information websites. The website is regularly updated, and can be visited at:

www.birminghamheritage.org.uk

The website has a 'flip book' version of our leaflet where you can see members' details.
