St George's Hall

St George's Hall, Bewdley

St. George's Hall is a Community Hub in the centre of Bewdley, Worcestershire, with a 170 capacity main hall thats includes a surround sound cinema facility.

The Hall hosts both public and private events daily, including our own programmes: Cinema in the Hall every Thursday and regular live music in the Music in the Hall.

Our ground floor Community Café is staffed by volunteers and opens Monday to Saturday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm - all income from the café and our progamme of events help to meet the costs of running the Hall.

Rooms at the Hall are all available for hire on an hourly basis.

St. George's Hall Awarded the Queens Award for Voluntary Services

St. George’s Hall Volunteers, a group of volunteers based in St. George's Hall, Bewdley, has been honoured with the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the highest award a voluntary group can receive in the UK.
The Volunteers run the community café and the cinema as well as assisting with music and drama events in the Hall and have a hugely positive impact on the lives of local people.

St. George’s Hall Volunteers is one of 230 charities, social enterprises and voluntary groups to receive the prestigious award in 2020. The number of nominations remains high year on year, showing that the voluntary sector is thriving and full of innovative ideas to make life better for those around them.

The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service aims to recognise outstanding work by volunteer groups to benefit their local communities. It was created in 2002 to celebrate the Queen’s Golden Jubilee. Recipients are announced each year on 2nd June, the anniversary of the Queen’s Coronation.
