Where to see balls in the West Midlands

This summer the West Midlands will play host to a number of sporting events across the region…. and as you may have guessed, these events often involve balls. From footballs, rugby balls to juggling balls and the occasional shotput, here’s our round up of the best places to see said balls in the region:

Cricket balls at T20 Blast Finals Day

T20 Blast Finals Day has firmly established itself as one of Britain’s biggest sporting days out with four teams, three matches, two finalists and one winner and is a day out not to be missed. T20 Finals Day will take place on Saturday 15th September, with tickets priced from £46 for adults and from £16 for under 16s.

Football… balls

Get yourself to a Championship home game in the region for some serious footie action. Birmingham City are playing Norwich City, Swansea City, Queen’s Park Rangers and West Bromwich Albion at St Andrew’s throughout Aug/Sep 1st. Catch the Villa play Wigan, Brentford and Reading at home throughout August, or the Baggies play Bolton Wanderers and Queens Park Rangers at home at The Hawthorns.

Shotput balls at Diamond League Athletics

The 2018 IAAF Diamond League is the ninth edition of the annual event, with a fourteen-leg series of track and field meetings until 31 August. The Müller Grand Prix in Birmingham will be one of the highlights of the 2018 outdoor season, but where are the beloved balls you ask? The shotput of course! A slightly looser connection, we’ll give you that, but a ball all the same. Head to Alexander Stadium to get your shotput fix on 18 August!

Rugby balls at Birmingham Moseley Rugby Club

Birmingham Moseley Rugby Club is an English rugby union club based in Birmingham that compete in the third tier of English Rugby. Billesley Common is their home and a local treasure for rugby fans around the region. With an away match vs Coventry on 11 Aug and a friendly match at home against Carmarthen Quins on 18 Aug, get your rugby fix by championing our local team this summer.

Don’t fancy yourself as a spectator of balls? Here’s some activities where you can partake in some of your own ball-play!

Juggling balls at Circus Mash

CircusMASH offer circus training, workshops, classes and more for the region. Their special blend of circus is used to build confidence, self-esteem & reliance as well as new skills! Why not learn how to juggle with their general circus skills? They have courses throughout the year, ranging from drop-ins to prepaid courses.

Golf balls at Ghetto Golf

A crazy golf experience like no other, head down to Digbeth and uncover the UV graffiti explosion that is Ghetto Golf. An art-infused environment with 18 holes to complete, head there with some pals in tow and get your competitive golfing cap on.

Bowling balls at Lane7

A brand new establishment to find home in The Cube, Lane7 is a swanky bowling alley / late night alternative to join the nightlife scene in Birmingham. As well as bowling, there’s also pool tables, ping pong, private karaoke booths, beer pong and mini golf – what a variety of balls!
