2014 Premier League Darts, 1 May, NIA
Premier League Darts will be bigger than ever in 2014 with the introduction of an additional league night, as the ten-player tournament visits the NIA in Birmingham. Darts' biggest roadshow event will celebrate its tenth staging, with reigning champion Michael van Gerwen set to defend his title against the likes of six-time winner Phil Taylor. The competitors for the 2014 Premier League Darts will be announced in January following the completion of the Ladbrokes World Darts Championship, with the top four players from the PDC Order of Merit to be joined by six Wildcards.

The Aegon Classic, 9-15 June, Edgbaston Priory Club
The event, which is just five minutes from Birmingham City Centre, hails the start of the summer tennis season and provides an unbelievable opportunity to watch some of the world’s best players in an intimate and welcoming setting.
UEC BMX European League, Rounds 9 & 10, 21 and 22 June, Birmingham BMX Track
Birmingham BMX track is hosting the exciting UEC BMX European League for the second time at the world class track in Perry Park, on the 21st and 22nd June 2014. The event was last held in 2011 and saw BMX’ers from all over Europe compete in this prestigious event.
The event which is part of the European BMX Series will see the track host the penultimate rounds 9 & 10, and will hopefully welcome World Champions to compete.

British Athletics Championships 27-29 June, Alexander Stadium
Some of Britain's best athletes will go head-to-head in a weekend of action-packed athletics for the British Athletics Championships on 27-29 June.
The outdoor season kicks off in style with the Sainsbury’s British Championships on 27-29 June. The spotlight will fall on Birmingham’s Alexander Stadium where Britain’s best go head-to-head to be crowned British champion. With places on the GB & NI team for the European Championships at stake, this promises to be an explosive start to a summer of world-class athletics.

NatWest T20 Blast Finals Day, 23 August, Edgbaston Cricket Stadium
Edgbaston will be hosting the newly launched NatWest T20 Blast Finals Day (formerly known as Friends Life t20) again in 2014 on Saturday 23 August. Be sure to join in for an electric atmosphere and of course some amazing county cricket action.

British Athletics Grand Prix, 24 August, Alexander Stadium
The Sainsbury’s Birmingham Grand Prix returns to the West Midlands on August 24, and looks set to be another spectacle with double world and Olympic Champion Mo Farah and world 400m champion Christine Ohuruogu already confirmed for the prestigious IAAF Diamond League event. Greg Rutherford, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and home favourite Robbie Grabarz have all starred in the West Midlands in previous years, and this year is expected to attract the biggest names in track and field once again in the summer.

Sainsbury's IPC Grand Prix Final, 25 August, Alexander Stadium
The grand finale of the 2014 athletics calendar will welcome some of the world’s best Paralympians back to Birmingham on August 25 for the Sainsbury’s IPC Grand Prix Final. After a successful initiation last year, with London 2012 gold medallists Jonnie Peacock, David Weir and Hannah Cockroft headlining the proceedings, the stage is set for an explosive finale at Birmingham’s Alexander Stadium.

The Bupa Great Run, 19 October, Various Locations
The Bupa Great Birmingham Run is the biggest half marathon in the Midlands. The course takes in some of the city's most iconic sights including the Bullring, the Cadbury's Factory in Bournville and Edgbaston Cricket Ground
