Over 18's

Whether you’re studying, visiting or starting your career in Birmingham – there’s plenty to do.

The same goes for the Jewellery Quarter, another fashionable section of the city where jewellers and fine craftsmen ply their trade in traditional brick buildings alongside the steel and glass apartment blocks housing tomorrow’s CEOs and high flyers.

Beautiful St Paul’s Square is a lovely place to spend a lazy hour or two. Great choice of restaurants and cafés or, if you get there late in the day then Jools Holland’s Jam House will be opening up ready for another riotous night of live rhythm and blues.

Broadway Plaza offers a number of jam packed activities catering to all ages and occasions. For birthdays, nights out and celebrations - There's the 12 screen Odeon 3D Multiplex, the 20 lane Bowlplex with Sega arcade and pool pit and the Broadway Casino.

Whether it’s reading a book in Sutton Park, enjoying a coffee and a good book one of the city’s many cafés in or simply watching the world go by from a deckchair outside the Bullring, there are plenty of ways to get far from the madding crowd in Birmingham.

It’s not just cafés either. From Michelin Starred restaurants to fast food joints, Birmingham has an extraordinary range of bars and restaurants, for every budget, to get your taste buds tingling. Whether you prefer the comfort of a familiar menu from a well-known chain or like to try new flavours and combinations, you will find the perfect venue for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Search for food and drink ideas here.

Live music venues in Birmingham and the surrounding area include the O2 Academy, the Barclaycard Arena and Genting Arena. There’s also the Hare and Hounds in Kings Heath, a pub renowned for helping to break new artists and also welcoming famous faces. There are also plenty of specialist music venues such as and The Drum – a contemporary black arts centre in Aston and smaller venues like the Solihull Arts Complex.

Check out EXPLORE Birmingham for information on bands playing whilst you’re visiting.

Need something to laugh about? Birmingham has a Jongleurs Comedy club, Highlight Comedy Club and The Glee Club to get you giggling all offering a night of food, laughter and dancing. And if you’re up for a late night, Birmingham has a massive clubbing scene. There’s a venue and a night for you no matter what you’re into.

Fancy some danger? Live life more adventurously – that’s our challenge to you. Start by booking your next Go Ape outing. Head into the forest for the Tree-Top Adventure or one of the new Forest Segway safaris. We promise you it’ll be a day out you’ll never forget!

Looking for a new challenge? RoguePlay runs regular aerial static trapeze and aerial skills workshops, contemporary dance workshops and Capoeira Brazilian Martial Art classes.
